What Situations Cause Many Anger Management Issues

For most people being able to keep their anger emotions in check is not that difficult as they can use a variety of self-help tools to make sure they do not lose their temper over something insignificant. There will, however be times when certain events will override common sense an you may end up making a mountain out of a mole hill.

First, there are different reasons people suffer from anger management issues, and for them there probably is not any one thing that causes them trouble in holding their emotions back. It could be the slightest annoyance that makes them go of on somebody or something and, if that is the case, they should keep in mind what may makes them lose their temper and avoid those situations.

For example, if large crowds tend to make you be intolerant of others, the best thing you can do is to avoid being in a crowded situation whenever possible, and when you absolutely must be in a crowd, keep telling yourself that no one in the crowd is annoying you or causing you to be angry. It is the environment, you cannot control the environment and getting angry over your surroundings will not make being in the crowd any better. Sure, you may feel instant, temporary gratification by letting those around you know how you feel, but once the initial vent is over you may end up feeling childish.

There are certain situations that can cause anger management issues to surface and no matter what you tell yourself, it may manifest itself in a shouting match. Similar to knowing you will spend more money if you go to the grocery store when you are hungry tells you to eat before you go there, knowing that certain situations are likely to make you madder than you should be, it is in your best interest to avoid those situations.

Every person with anger management issues will face situations differently and if you recognize that you have problems with anger, or someone has told you that you have trouble controlling your temper, it is time to do something about it. If you find yourself contemplating a recent event during which you lost your temper, write down certain facts about the situation. Make note of how you felt at the time. Note if you felt nervous, threatened, anxious or some other emotion and focus on the specific action that made you angry. If someone cut you offer, either driving or walking through a public place, what about it set you off.

Note what, or who, made you angry and who you are mad at the most. Normally when angry, it is focused on a person and not the activity. If you were cut off on, the highway was it the act of being cut off or the person who performed the act should be noted. Think that if you met the person on the street, they probably would not make you mad, so it is most likely the act that upset you.
